We at CharlesWorks hope you enjoy this little peek into the first snowfall of this season here in Peterborough, NH on October 23rd, 2003.

Please be patient, as there are a dozen photos on this page and they may take some time to load into your browser. Estimated load times with a good connection are about 96 seconds with a 28k modem or about 49 seconds with a 56k modem.

To the left is looking out over the driveway toward the street CharlesWorks is located on in beautiful, scenic Peterborough, NH. It is October 23rd and this is the first snowfall of the season. When we woke up this morning, we noticed it had started snowing at some time during the night. By 2:00 pm the snowing had dwindled to less than what we would call flurries. It appeared that only a couple of inches of snowfall had accumulated. The driveway and road was too warm for the snow to remain. We understand that in the northeastern United States, Vermont received about three inches of snow and parts of Maine even more, so we were probably fairly lucky here in New Hampshire.

To the right is a photo looking out over the yard towards some of the woods behind CharlesWorks. The garden, just to the top of and left of the next door deck, is covered with snow.

To the left is a photo again looking out over the yard towards some of the woods behind CharlesWorks. The maple tree to the right has not even shed its now golden leaves yet, so typical of the New England area foliage and beautiful scenery that many tourists visit this area each year to see.

To the right is another photo looking out over the yard towards some of the woods behind CharlesWorks. It looks like a winter wonder land.

To the left is a photo looking out of an upstairs window over the yard towards the back porch and the shed.

To the right  is a photo looking out over the yard towards some of the woods behind CharlesWorks from inside the back porch.

To the left is another photo looking out over the yard towards the next door deck from inside the back porch.

To the right  is a photo looking out over the yard through the sliding glass doors towards some of the woods behind CharlesWorks only a couple hours later in the same afternoon! You can see a little of the snow still lingers on the porch roof.

To the left is another photo looking out over the yard after the snow has disappeared from the ground entirely and the sun has even come out. In New England, uncanny weather seems to be a rather common occurrence in the fall and in the springtime.

To the right  is another  photo looking out toward the road from inside the room over the garage. Compare this to the same photo above just a few hours earlier showing the lawn covered with snow. Oftentimes, we don't know what the weather will be around Peterborough, New Hampshire (or anywhere in the New England area, for that matter) until it gets here!
